Compassion Child Update

Postby SnowFlake on Sun Feb 03, 2008 6:28 pm

Hey everyone! NSL recently received a letter from Melanie Oña's mother. Melanie is the child we are sponsoring through Compassion International.

Here is the translated text of the letter:
December 20th 2007
Dear Northwood Student Life,

Greetings in our Lord Jesus Christ's love. This is Melanie's mother and we hope you are in very good health with your loved ones. My daughter is a very smart girl. She's got many friends in school and her favorite food is rice and chicken and her favorite subject is Language. She like to sing praises to God. She attends Sunday School every week and her father's name is Luis Oña and we live in a city called Guayaquil. Melanie is 7 years old and soon will start vacation from school. She has only one sister named Kelly that is 12 years old. We must close for now with many kisses and hugs.

Melanie Oña and her mother.

I would like to put a letter together to send back to Melanie Oña. Please reply to this message with anything that you would like included in the letter and I will be sure to include it in the letter we send to her.

Also, today was Bring Your Buck Sunday. I received about half the amount we need to pay the monthly support of Melanie Oña. If you weren't at church today or didn't have your buck, please bring it to The Table or The Gathering and give it to Luke.

It may not seem like much, but a dollar a month from each of you can really make a difference in a little girl's life.

Thanks everyone!
SnowFlake
