Little Children

A very good question came up while driving out to Camp Kingswood. So I thought I would post it and see if anyone has any thoughts. I wonder what the Bible says. (I not sure and I am just starting to research it)

The question is: What happens if a baby or a young child dies. Do they go to Heaven?
They haven't let gave their heart to God and still don't understand what it means to be saved.

My 3 year old knows that Jesus loves her, is that enough? I feel that all children are a gift from God. I pray that if something were to happen she would return to God in heaven. I just don’t know…

I've thought about that a lot and here's my theories and others:
I've been reading the Left Behind books and in there when the rapture happens all of the younger children dissappear. My thoughts on this are similar. I think that if a baby or a child is too young to understand things like Jesus and Satan and forgiveness and such I think that God either takes them to Heaven immediately. Or, God will look into their life as if they were alive for their entire life and the decision at the end of their life will determine their outcome as a baby. Does this make sense?
